Volcanoes

25th Nov 2024
As part of Science week, we really enjoyed engaging in project experiments. Our class made Volcanoes. We worked in small groups and made our own volcanoes using plastic bottles and paper Maché and acrylic paints. We learned all about Volcanoes, how they are formed, the different types of volcanoes and how they erupt. Then we experimented and created a chemical reaction, similar to how a volcanoes erupts. By mixing the acid (vinegar) and the alkali (bicarbonate of soda),bubbles of carbon dioxide (CO2) were released like in a pyroclastic flow.
We had great fun!
