Science-Slime

21st Mar 2024

4th class enjoyed making slime as part of Science. We made slime to represent the Hagfish. Hagfish are bottom-dwelling, eel-shaped marine creatures that live in the mesopelagic to abyssal Pacific ocean, near the ocean floor.
Hagfish are fish that lack eyes, jaws, scales, and paired fins. Hagfishes will jet their slime from the part of their body that is under attack. If a shark tries to take a bite, the hagfish sends slime straight into the mouth and gills of the predator, forcing them to let go.
Very interesting learning and lots of fun to make.
