Local History

26th Apr 2023

Local History week was a great success and chance for us to learn about the rich history in our local area.

We learned all about what Balrothery was like in the past and enjoyed getting out and about for our local history walk around Balrothery Village. We then put our learning to practice by pairing up with Ms.McKiernan's Senior Infants for some buddy history learning. We used photos to compare Balrothery then and now. We had great fun learning with our Buddy class.

During the week, we were fortunate to receive a visit from Denise Caffrey from Balbriggan Historical Society, who taught us all about The Sack of Balbriggan. Following this, we explored all the history Balbriggan has to offer on a walking trail.
